Hi, I’m a Sydney-based journalist who has spent the last 15 years working across digital, broadcast and print media as an editor, reporter and producer.
I’m currently assistant news editor at Guardian Australia. Prior to this, I was technology editor at The Conversation, where I worked with academics to explore the impact of new technologies on society and culture.
I was a fellow at the Columbia Journalism Review in New York in 2016 – the year Donald Trump was elected president. I covered the changing relationship between American media and the presidency, the mainstreaming of the alt-right, and the ethics of the social news ecosystem.
I also spent eight years in Sydney at the Special Broadcasting Service – a national Australian public television network. I was founding editor of the SBS Food website, and co-produced a six-part television series about Brazilian culture, which was broadcast in 40 countries.
A graduate of Columbia Journalism School's Master of Arts program, I’m passionate about telling stories that explain complicated issues through a human lens.
